The Eastern State Penitentiary is one of the most striking and prominent historical landmarks within the city of Philadelphia.  Its long and colorful history has produced a great variety of stories and the physical appearance of the building offers a setting that would spark any imagination.  The Cellblock concert production will present original chamber music composed by Philadelphia based composers taking their inspiration from the history of the (ESP).  Four concerts are schedule for April 24, 25, May 1 & 3, 2009. The setting of the concert within the institution itself will provide an unparalleled experience for CMN’s audience.  An audience is rarely afforded the opportunity to enjoy works of art, new or old, so closely to the source of their inspiration.
